Research and Development Clinical excellence at the L&D is supported by high quality research and a robust evidence base. The Trust aims to undertake high quality research that addresses issues of concern to the local population and to the NHS as a whole.

High quality research provides the evidence with which to practise ‘evidence based-medicine’. Research is essential to the successful promotion and protection of health and wellbeing and to the provision of modern and effective health care services.

The Trust will ensure that all staff wishing to undertake research is provided with the appropriate support, facilities and training to encourage research work in an environment where skills are developed and expertise is recognised.

Research should form part of your appraisal process.
