Harlow Healthcare Library

Literature/Evidence Searches

The Library exists to help you find the information you need to do your job, improve services, continue your learning and development, and teach others.

Enquiry services

The Library Enquiries Desk is staffed Monday-Friday 08:30 - 16:30. Messages may also be left for library staff by email and phone:  email: paht.lib.desk@nhs.net phone: 01279 827021

We are happy to help with any enquiries concerning finding information for your work and study. For example, we can find a piece of information for you, talk to you about organising information, suggest useful places for you to search and search terms to use, or suggest other resources which may answer your question.

If the member of Library staff you speak to cannot answer your enquiry immediately, they will either pass your enquiry to a senior member of staff or agree a timescale with you for a response.

 Literature search services

If you would like us to search for published or unpublished literature (journal articles, guidelines, reports etc.) on a topic, please contact the Library to discuss your requirements. A professional member of Library staff will conduct a full search to the criteria we agree with you. There is no charge for this service to local NHS staff.

Please note that if you are a student on placement in the Trust, we may not be able to do a literature search for you as some universities have asked us not to do so. Instead, we can sit down with you and work through your search with you individually, showing you how to use databases and other resources: please contact us to arrange a time to do this.

To request a literature search or a 1-1 search session please visit, call, or email your search details to us: paht.lib.desk@nhs.net
